The professional website of Dr. Carol Tenopir. The content included a bio and vita, e-prints, publications, research, speeches, and teaching. My goals in the site design were web standards compliance, accessibility, and ease of updating. The combination of cascading style sheets and XHTML accomplishes these goals.
The use of tables and images for formatting and text rollover effects was eliminated, resulting in faster site updating, faster page load times, and greater accessibility across at wider range of devices such as screen readers and PDAs. The site met section 508 standards and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Priority 1 and 2.
